The Post Library is located at Bldg 331 on Second Street and is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm and on Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm.  Library accounts for anyone living or working on Fort Irwin. Give us a call at 380-3462.
 
Programs
~Spinecrackers Book Club – Adult book club
meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00p.m.
 
~Out-of-this-World Book Club- For Science Fiction & Fantasy Lovers
meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00p.m.
 
~Pagemasters Book Club – Elementary age children
 meets Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Children’s room. Reading incentive patches are awarded.

~Story Times – Meets Thursdays at 11am and Fridays at 10a.m. in the Children’s Room. Includes stories, fingerplays, songs, movement activities and crafts (only meets Thursdays in the summer).

~Summer Reading program for children preschool through middle school. Incentives given special programming.

Services offered:
-Computerized Card Catalog at card catalog computer and also through AKO.
-Library lending services.
-Ready reference – just ask a staff member for help!
-Most materials are can be reserved- reserves must be picked up within 24 hours of notification.
-Interlibrary loan available.
-Large selection of research and pleasure reading – both for children and adults.
-Free books available – also at the Dust Bowl for the rotational soldiers.
-Large selection of Videos and DVDs available.
-Some videos are marked for rotational soldiers. Sign them out at the front desk.
-Large selection of CDs for listening enjoyment.
-Audio books are available –CD, MP3, and cassette.
-Phonics and Math kits are available at the front desk.
-Accelerated Reader section – current lists are available.
-MOS Library materials are available.
-Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Army Times along with other magazines and periodicals are available for use within the library. The High Desert Warrior is free.
-Typewriters – ask at desk.
-Word Processing computers – sign up at the front desk - bring your own paper to print.
-Copier - $.10 per copy.
-Internet lab– must receive internet patron number at the front desk to access computer. Printer available must supply own paper. Paper can be purchase for 10 cents at the copy machine. 
-A large number of research and other databases are available through AKO.
-Listening lab with listening stations, Microfiche reader, Comfortable seating, Tables and work areas, Quiet rooms (usually).
-Requests taken – Comments and suggestions are appreciated.
-Outside book drop and a separate outside video drop.
