The Middle School / Teen Program is located at Bldg 1313 on Middle School and Teen (MS&T) programs, has a game room with billiards, foosball, video and board games, computer lab, homework lab, lounge with 2 flat screen TV, Xbox360, Wii, Playstation, outside playground, arts and crafts activities. Also a full use gym for a variety of activities. |

Eligibility: Young people, who are in the 6th through the 12th grade as of the first day of school, who are dependents of Active Duty Military, Military Retiree, Reservists, National Guard, and Civilian Employees to Fort Irwin. MST is free of charge. | |

We are happy to welcome you and your youth into our MS&T program. It is the mission of Fort Irwin Child and Youth Services to provide a quality program that meets the needs of youths, parents, to support the military life style, promote character values and reduce conflicts between parental responsibilities and unit mission requirements.
CYS REGISTRATION: CYS Central Enrollment and Registration (CER) is located at building 1323 on Pork Chop Hill & Goldstone Rd and is open Monday through Friday from 0730 - 1600. Give us a call at 760-380-2257. Before using the Middle School and Teen Programs or facilities, a registration packet must be completed. Parents are asked to update files anytime information changes (i.e. phone number changes, emergency designee moves, etc.).
Our Computer lab is open to home schooling parents that dont have certain programs or the usage of an computer for there teaching needs. What our lab offers during normal programing hrs are the following: graphic design, website design, photography, audio, video editing, podcasting and much more. Your parents also have access to explorering environmental awareness, renewable energies such as solar cars and robotics. While our lab is open for special hours to those home schoolers, those that wish to attend the MST during normal operation hrs are more than welcome to visit our facility and take part in much more that we offer. We are also a dedicated site that participates in boys & girls club of America, to 4H projects which compete against other army installations across the nation and win prizes and trips. Those that are seeking to pursue college, we offer the following: College Applications, Finanicial Aid, Writing an Paper in MLA / APA, Scholarship Writing, Research Papers. Exploring website design, bloging, podcasting, photography and much more. Teens are open to joining clubs such as the Keystone & Torch Club. Some of these clubs will help teens learn and practice leadership skills. Other areas that we allow teens to explorer is workforce preparation, which will help teens prepare for youth employment and future careers.
Programs: In the Middle School and Teen programs we offer programs that enhance self-esteem, promote a healthy lifestyle, and encourage good citizenship while providing a time and place for social interaction.
- YOUTH SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM: This program is for incoming youth who will be matched and teamed up with a sponsor to help show them the ropes, navigate and familiarize themselves with the facility, its programs and activities. Youth Sponsorship Blog
- CYS TECH CLUB: Monday through Friday from 15:30 to 1730 Youth Service's technology lab provides access to computers and a variety of educational software. CYS staff monitors usage for appropriate material. Tech Center participants have the chance to participate in both hands-on-enrichment projects and structured computer activities.
- Power Hour: Monday through Friday from 1530 to 1700 p.m. Power Hour is the Boys and Girls Club of America homework center component of Child and Youth Services. Students can earn points to select prizes for the amount of work they've done.
- KEYSTONE CLUB: This club provides young people in grades 9th through 12th with opportunities for growth and recognition. The club performs community service, recreation activities and more.
- TORCH CLUB: Wednesdays from 1530 to 1630 A club offering services and leadership to youth ages 11 to 13. Torch club members elect officers and work together to plan activities.
- Programs: Wednesday from 1530 to 1630 This club is for youths who want to learn about quick healthy foods and the value of nutrition.
- PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB: Wednesday from 1430 to 1530 Through various aspects of photography, members express themselves creatively and learn skills that build confidence and self-esteem. Coming in Jan 2009

TECH CLUB: Wednesday 1530 to 1630 This club covers all the BGCA Digital Arts Suite (Photo Tech, Music Tech, Movie Tech, Design Tech and Web Tech). A great program for learning new skills and how to use them on the computer. Club Tech also covers MindStorm Robotics and Computer Animation.

NEWSPAPER CLUB: This club covers how to create, write, layout an small newspaper. The progam allows the members to explorer microsoft publisher, which allows for alot of creativity

ENGINEERING CLUB: Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participants in this club will gain useful skills on engineering basics from bridge building to model rockets. (Coming in Jan 2009)

FINE ARTS: Monday - Friday 1530 to 1700 Participants will use various art mediums in drawing and painting.

SPORTS & RECREATION: Wednesdays from 1430 to 1530 This club will experience sports and recreation activities from basketball to tennis.

ARTS & CRAFTS: Every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. come join the fun of crafting. Participants are exposed to various craft mediums such as leather, pewter, wood, clay, plaster, and many other types of crafts.

4H ASTRONOMY: Fridays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The magic of the night skies is exposed for your enjoyment and learning. Constellations, stars, and planets. (Coming in Jan 2009)

FIELD TRIPS: Field trips offer a unique opportunity for Youth to explore and experience culture and communities of this area. Popular field trip destinations have included theaters, bowling, paintball, corn maize, Adventure Zone, swimming, Bobo’s Family Fun Center, Carlsbad Caverns, and many other places. Off post trips require written parent permission. Costs will vary. As always parents are welcome to volunteer for chaperone duty. Current list of trips or special events are on the monthly calendar.

HOME SCHOOLED YOUTHS: Monday - Friday 1530 to 1730. Come join us during this time frame for fun. Many options will be available each week from Arts & Crafts to Sports & Recreation to Science & Technology.
