Fort Irwin Child, Youth & School Services (CYS) is a network of systems and programs through which Fort Irwin provides quality child and youth development options that reduce the conflict between parental responsibilities and unit mission requirements. The objectives of CYS are to support readiness and contribute to the quality of life of families by providing developmentally appropriate care options for children and youth. CYS includes full-day, part-day and hourly child care programs; before- and after-school care programs; middle and teen programs; family child care; team sports and outreach sports programs; and resource and referral for on and off post. CYS programs are designed to foster and develop children's physical, intellectual and socio-emotional capabilities regardless of the setting or length of time in care. Programs include:

The CYS Central Enrollment Office is located at Bldg 1322 on Pork Chop Hill & Goldstone Road and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm. Give us a call at 760-380-2257

Please bring the following items with you when you register your child with CYS: Child's SSN, 2 emergency contacts other than the parents and from Barstow to Fort Irwin, current LES from the sponsor and a pay stub from spouse if employed, up-to-date immunization records.

To register for sports or instructional classes, a current sports physical must be turned in at time of registration.

Other possible forms include: Family Care Plan for all sole and dual military parents. On initial registration, patrons are given 30 days to complete DA forms 5304-R and 5305-R. Civilian single parents are required to submit a civilian family care plan.

An infant feeding plan must be completed for all infants under 12 months prior to placement in a program. Call USDA at 380-2269 to set up an appointment.

All allergies, special needs, and exceptional family members must be noted. A Special Needs Resource Team may need to evaluate a child prior to utilizing any program.
